Jon Newman 2010 12 21 Effect of CNQX on Decodability ------------------------------- In this experiment, I aim to measure the effects of increasing concentrations of the competitive AMPA anatognist, CNQX, on the ability of the culture to respond to stimuli of various rates. Detailed notes on how I came up with the protocol can be found in NB.P.005 around pages 30 to 40. I am using my standard Poisson Stimulation, Uniform over electrodes paradigm with the following parameters: -Stim rates = 5 15 and 50 Hz -Epochs = 10 for each rate, each lasting 60 seconds Spike Detection -Spike filter is 1st order with [500 5000] Hz passband -Spike detection: 8*RMS noise, Fixed -SALPA is being used with 2.5 ms blanking period following stimuli. Each protocol starts with a 30 minute spontaneous recording to let the drugs take effect. Bad channels = [35 22 27] -> more artifacts than spikes during stim protocols.
